Stop treading water, make time to swim

So what do I mean?
I have had an interesting week this week. Between putting in time planting trees with a friend, teaching music and some other commitments, I’ve put in very few business hours this week. What’s the upshot of that? Well, it means I am basically treading water. Standing still if you like. And making no forward progress in business. How about you?
It’s fine to “tread water” if we’ve already cracked the monthly income stream, but is that the case for all of you? If you’re still toiling part-time in your business, working a full time job alongside, then you need to guard jealously the time you have to sow into business.
Treading water is good for staying afloat, but it’s NOT going to move you closer to achieving your goals!
Make time and guard that time…
It’s important to make time to hit the forums, reading and participating. It’s important to continue to post to your blog. It’s important to continue to educate yourself. Read the feeds you subscribe to, daily if possible, and be sure to comment as soon after the posts goes up as possible. Make time to establish your “harvesting contacts” strategy. Build your list. Promote your sites. Make time to be in business, guard that time, and see your business move steadily forward.
Find a strategy…
Figure out what makes you fruitful and successful online. Multiply and “scale up” that strategy. Protect that strategy from ANYTHING that gets in the way.
What are you waiting for?!
