Having begun to explore the indepth world of social networking, I thought it prudent and hopefully relevant in the slightest, to share with you the contents of… My Social Networking Bookmarks!

Here goes, a brief run down…

SocialThing.com - currently in Beta testing though with a few “invites” floating around the web.

“Socialthing! makes it easy to see all the things your friends are doing. It’s a news feed for every site that you use in one place.”

Twitter.com or view my Twitter stream here.

“Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

TwitPic.com

TwitPic lets you share photos on Twitter. You can post pictures to TwitPic from your phone, our API, or through the site itself. There are also popular twitter clients that have built-in support for TwitPic.”

Seesmic.com or view the Seesmic Video I posted in relation to this blog post.

“Well known European entrepreneur and LeWeb conference organiser, Loic Le Meur, is the founder of seesmic, a video service mimicking and aggregating your favorite web products. Currently the service could be described as a Video Twitter - Users can upload video directly from their webcam and post it to a personal page like with Twitter.”

FaceBook.com or view my profile here.

“Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you.”

MySpace.com or view my profile here.

“MySpace is an online community that lets you meet your friends’ friends. Create a community on MySpace and you can share photos, journals and interests with your growing network of mutual friends!”

Tumblr.com or visit my Tumblog here.

“Unlike blogs, tumblelogs aren’t designed like a newspaper column. They’re the easiest way to share everything you find, love, hate, or create — even if you’re not wordy. Tumblr features the most refined and simple interface we’ve ever built. No complicated navigation. No code to learn. Share anything with just a couple clicks.”

43Things.com or view my “things” here.

“You might find you have some important and some frivolous goals. That is OK. You’ve got space for 43 Things on your list. Not every one of them has to change the world (but save room for the ones that might). We all have stories about what we care about. Writing down your progress on a goal can help someone else learn about something you both want to do. When you see a goal you’ve achieved, click on the “I’ve done this” button and share a story about how you did it.”

BrightKite.com

“Discover who visits your favorite places. Join the community in real time. See where your friends are and what they’re up to, in real time. Meet real world friends. Reveal your location, befriend, and chat with people around you.”

FireEagle.Yahoo.Net

“Fire Eagle is the secure and stylish way to share your location with sites and services online while giving you unprecedented control over your data and privacy. We’re here to make the whole web respond to your location and help you to discover more about the world around you.”

Pownce.com or view my profile here.

“Pownce is a way to keep in touch with and share stuff with your friends. Send people files, links, events, and messages and then have real conversations with the recipients.”

Flickr.com or view my Flickr photo stream here.

“Flickr - almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world - has two main goals: We want to help people make their content available to the people who matter to them. We want to enable new ways of organizing photos and video.”

There you have it! - Welcome to the world of social networking…
